I don’t think I’ll ever tire of maternity sessions.
A lot of people view their maternity session as a big milestone that gets them closer to meeting their baby, so there’s usually an abundance of quiet excitement in the air; it’s another box checked – a fun one. There’s free-flowing, easy conversation usually surrounding the questions and surprises ahead. Reality now vs. reality later. It’s just fun. And it’s always a bonus when I go into a maternity session knowing that in just a couple of months, I get to photograph that family on the other side of all the questions and speculation, and I get to see mom and dad living their new reality in a newborn session.
This is exactly what Corrie and JD’s mini-maternity session was like at Annie Louise Wilkerson Nature Preserve, in Raleigh. Sweet, easy conversation. Some new parent jitters. Gender guesses. But undeniable assurance that regardless of what was to come, this baby is already known and loved.
And yep, I did their newborn session just a few weeks ago, and boy was it sweet. I can’t wait to share it soon. Corrie and JD, thank you for allowing me to capture this sweet season of welcoming your baby boy (!!!) Henry into your lives.
